We will find out who is the second finalist of the promotion play-off on Sunday evening after two great rivals from the south of Spain finish the second semi-final leg, Tenerife and Cadiz. Cadiz has advantage of one goal at the moment as it won at home 1-0 three days ago, which was at the same time revenge to Tenerife for defeat and draw in the regular season.
Tenerife will try its best now in order to win Cadiz at home as it is the only way to maintain hope alive that will reach the final of promotion play-off. If Tenerife concede a goal its task would become far more difficult given it lost in Cadiz by 1-0, so they firstly have to play much better defence, while in attack they hope that their best scorer Diedhiou will be more efficient as he fully recovered in the meantime.
Regarding the rest of Tenerife starting line-up, we believe that coach Marti will change nothing compared to the first let, regardless that his team lost, as right this 11 players carried the biggest burden on their shoulders throughout the regulars season. However, they have to be play more aggressively and efficiently if they want to win on Sunday evening and reach the play-off final. We need to add that out of action are only from before injured midfielder Ait-Atmane.
Unlike Tenerife that will try to annul at home minus of one goal, Cadiz players can start the second semi-final leg more relaxed as they have the minimal advantage from the first match. Aketxe scored for Cadiz in 64 minute and after that they hit the break as they didn’t want to receive a goal which would make their path toward the final far more difficult.
However, Cadiz will face in Tenerife aggressive and offensive home team and its coach Cervera will probably set more defensive tactic than he did three days ago. The defence and midfield shouldn’t undergo any changes but in attack we expect return of Cadiz best scorer Ortun, who three days ago came off the bench instead of Cruz only near the end of match as he was still recovering from injury.
Just like we gave advantage to Cadiz in the first leg, we would now play on Tenerife’s victory because of the home-field advantage, especially as they have minus of one goal.
