Ascoli hosts Pescara in round 10 of Italian Serie B. The match will be played on Friday, December 4th at Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca (Ascoli Piceno).
The Black-and-Whites just recently experienced the risk of bankruptcy, but they were able to start the new season in Serie B. Truth be told, Ascoli started very hard. It immediately left the cup, losing to the first opponent (Perugia). In the championship, Ascoli gained a point in the very first round (1-1 on the field of Brescia, which relegated from Serie A), but then it lost five of seven matches. However, it managed to beat Reggiana and gained a draw with Virtus Entella. Nevertheless, the 2:1 defeat to Venezia in the last round was the reason for a change of coach Delio Rossi headed Ascoli the very next day. He is a former coach of such teams as Lazio, Fiorentina, and Palermo (more than once).
Since the beginning of 2020, five different coaches have already worked with the Dolphins. Even Massimo Oddo, who brought Pescara to Serie A for the last time, returned in August. However, he didn’t help the team to improve its results. The Dolphins started with a goalless draw with Chievo, but seven of their next eight matches ended in defeats. The only victory was gained in early December (over Cittadella). Beyond that, Pescara managed to eliminate San Nicolo from the cup but lost to Parma already in the next round. In the last two rounds of the championship, the Dolphins lost to SPAL and Pordenone and secured a foothold in the relegation zone. After that, another substitution on the coaching took place. Roberto Breda headed Pescara. He was a rather famous footballer in the past and won trophies with Sampdoria and Parma. He has been working as a coach since 2010. However, he did not stay for a long time anywhere and did not achieve anything intelligible.
Interestingly, both clubs are hoping that the new mentors, who will debut on Friday, will take them out of their crisis. However, it is more important to earn some points at first. We think that the game will be cautious, and the bet on Under 2.5 goals scored suggests itself.
